Echocardiography

In addition to the ECG, the echocardiography is one of the most important technical, non-invasive examination methods of the heart. It allows for a thorough examination of the heart within a very short period of time. The size of the individual heart ventricles, the pumping function and the function of the individual heart valves are easy to recognise. Cardiac defects can also be detected quickly and reliably. Circulatory disorders can be indirectly assessed by means of wall-motion abnormalities. Patients do not need to come to an echocardiography on an empty stomach.
